A Little Act of Goodness

December 29, 2011. Home for the Aged.

My niece, Cry2 tagged along with me when I joined my batchmates in high school for an Outreach Program. VISITING THE HOME FOR THE AGED . We conducted this instead of the usual high school reunions, for a change.

I felt a fierce pain in my heart when an old man, a resident of that institution came near me and Cry2. He hugged Cry2 to the latter's surprise. My little companion was sure taken aback but I explained to her that the "Lolo" missed his "Apo" who did not pay him a visit for years now.

The old man cried. But I knew he was happy. This is just a little act of goodness before the year ends. More for 2012!!! :)

The Lolo approached Cry2

Then he dedicated a song to his "Apo" (grandchild)...

Our visit made his day.

Hopes for Year 2012

The new year is too near! Gosh, I really have a lot of plans and hopes. But foremost is my passing and hopefully, topping the bar ~... Quite a big dream but makes my heart happy.

I pray for God's wisdom and guidance. Nobody can do anything perfectly without His permission. Life is filled with puzzles, and I intend to place the pieces correctly and promptly.

I pray for good health. Health is very important. For how can I enjoy everything if I am weak and plagued with disease.

I pray for happiness. It is the air that breathes life to my being. I hope to live harmoniously and blissfully with my love-ones and new found friends each day.

I pray for peace of mind. It will bring tranquility amidst a world that has a lot of trials, so that I may sleep comfortably, not disturbed by nightmares.

I pray for God's blessings. Each day and forever, so that I may be able to live my life nicely and share it with others.

I have a lot of prayers. There are a lot more. Better kept inside than said.

THESE ARE MY HOPES for the coming years of my life...

Taylor Swift Has Swept Us :)

TAYLOR SWIFT. Singer-songwriter, musician, record producer, actress. Rolled into one!

How has this young lad from Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, United States touched millions of lives? Well, I am pretty sure that she has touched kids, teenagers and even us, adults deep into our beings to do something better for this world.

My niece, Paula Marie is an avid fan of Taylor Swift. She wore her hair like Taylor, act like Taylor and her school stuffs are even filled with Taylor's name. I sometimes call her Taylor-addict as she would usually stay in front of the TV set, waiting for MYX to play Taylor's songs.  :)

Seeing her obsession of anything depicting Taylor Swift, I made an agreement with her. She has to get real GOOD GRADES in exchange for an album containing all Taylor’s songs including her autobiography... Paula readily accepted the condition, and true to her word, she got high grades and is included in the top 5.

I am a very happy and proud Aunt. :)

Today is Taylor's birthday and I want to thank her for doing some magic to my niece's life. Paula wants to be like Taylor - talented, intelligent and successful!

I am now playing one of Taylor Swift's songs - Back to December.

jollibee

Kids love Jollibee....
This has become a must-say for kids when going to the mall or to eat out.
The cuddly character has enticed the kids. I want to be embraced by this bee too!
There is a sense of warmth and friendship, you will never be afraid of.

Do you fear DEATH?

Death is the state of ceasing life. Nonexistence. Nothingness.

Many fear to die, for varied reasons. There are those who fear that nobody will take care of the kids or the family when he leaves or that his riches will be put to waste. Yeah, it is but natural that we are protective of this gift. That’s why, we even took pains in saving one’s life when inflicted with a disease or any incurable ailments, or on one who has met an accident, catastrophe or seriously wounded.

But for me, I do not fear death. It is an event that is sure to come. Like most stories and movies, there has to be an ending.

However, while I may not fear my end, I wanted to have a graceful exit.

I wanted to leave a legacy that will run on for decades or centuries, a legacy that my family and friends will talk about with admiration and respect. I hope to inculcate pure goodness. I am not a saint of course! But I want to have goodness prevail over anything else…. And now, I am working on it…. Let’s be good! J

… And when it’s finally over, I hope that I will be in my best form, regally beautiful inside and out! ~

SMILING CRY

There are times that we dislike a person for no valid reason at all. We just do not like them, period! On the other hand, there are people whom we are very fond of, not also knowing why we do. Is it reincarnation?

This child is nicknamed as Cry-Cry. When we say “cry”, we mean a wailing child, kicking her mom’s patience too far... But this baby in our family proves the definition wrong. Cry-cry is a bubbly child, funny to be with and so adorable! You cannot say no to her.

Her smile and appealing eyes melts our hearts. She surely captured our hearts the moment she was born.

The ever favorite child, niece, grandchild, great grandchild, goddaughter... CRY-CRY!

 Effortless Charmer ~

What’s in a Gift?

October 8, 2011. The three of us, two (2) of my bestfriends Lovi and Lovelita and I, agreed to a lunch date at Chowking @ KCC Mall, General Santos City.

While waiting for my dates, I was mindlessly looking at the shoppers, busy shopping and bringing out their goods from the mall. I also casually observed a throng of teenagers nearby waiting for the cinemas to open. I was so engrossed looking at the other mall goers that I was so dumbfounded when someone covered my eyes with two hands. It was unexpected. I guessed as to who my guest was, and finally, she uncovered my eyes. It was Lovelita! The ever thoughtful friend since high school days.

I was so surprised and got teary-eyed. She bought me this! One-stemmed red rose and a cute cup cake with candle for me to blow....

Later, Lovi joined us and also brought with her great news (Papsie's financial support for my bar exam ~)... What can I ask for?

The feeling that someone took efforts in making you feel special is too overwhelming. I am an independent person and used to be doing this kind of thing to my family. I do not succumb to the idea of being pampered myself. But alas, I was!

We further celebrated my birthday with a simple lunch. And more – we had our whole day chatting about our high school days, about our plans and especially, our lovelife. :)

It made my day! I felt so special, young and carefree!
